How do you intend strengthening your position in the market in the future. Please outline all investment and customer service initiatives that are planned to be introduced in the next 12 months giving reasons for their implementation.

 

Logistics service provider of the year

What has your company been doing over the past year to both exploit opportunities in the market and respond to changing trading conditions and customers’ requirements? What impact has this had on your fiscal performance?

Please outline your future growth strategy, describing in detail the plans you have to add more value to the services that you offer.

Please give an example of a customer you have secured over the past 12 months, outlining how you have same the, costs in their supply chain management business while raising service standards.

 

Port Authority of the year

The container terminal is a key component in any supply chain and the smooth and seamless flow of cargo is critical. What has your company been doing over the past year to ensure that this takes place, quickly, securely and safely?

Ports have to become greener. Please explain what action you have taken over the past 12 months and what you intend doing over the next year to:

  • Reduce emissions
  • Cut noise levels
  • Recycle waste
  • Minimise the impact of the operation on your immediate environment

Please detail your future growth strategy, describing in particular the plans you have to add more value and enhanced reliability to the services that you offer.

 

Innovation IT of the year

Processing information more quickly and accurately, finding better ways of invoicing, producing freight rate quotations faster and handling claims and resolving compliance issues more effectively can make huge differences when it comes to a company’s cost and productivity levels. Containerisation International is looking for that IT product that is transforming/will transform business processes and help shape the container freight transport industry of the future. Entrants need to describe their product in detail giving examples of the likely costs savings and operational/service benefits from its use both to the vendor and its customers. Your entry needs to be fully supported by facts and figures and ideally developed within the past 12 months.

 

Environmental Campaign of the Year

Companies engaged in the container shipping industry are having to reduce their impact on the environment as pressures from national governments and customers intensifies. This new award will be given to that company that has backed up its commitment to reduce its carbon footprint, its strides to recycle more of its waste and/or has put into place long-term and sustainable business practices with a creative and highly innovative advertising poster/internet campaign. The entry needs to be supported by facts and figures showing how effective the measures have been in cutting emissions, reducing waste etc, and the purpose of the campaign.

 

Corporate Social Responsibility

Please describe your CSR policy or action plan, incorporating a written policy statement if you have one.

Please provide details of specific plans implemented over the past year to:

  • minimise the impact of your business on the environment
  • ensure safe and secure activities
  • provide equal and fair employment opportunities to everybody
  • engage the local community

In the coming year, what are your specific CSR priorities and what measures and checks do you have in place to measure achievements against targets. When it comes to CSR issues are you externally audited. Are you working to a particular accreditation?

 

Shippers’ choice award

Since January 2012, Containerisation International has been publishing monthly shipper sentiment surveys based on panels of beneficial cargo owners/freight forwarders located in Asia, Europe and North America. The award will be presented to that carrier which has ranked highest in the surveys up and including the one published in the September issue.
