Environmental Campaign of the Year

Companies engaged in the container shipping industry are having to reduce their impact on the environment as pressures from national governments and customers intensifies. This new award will be given to that company that has backed up its commitment to reduce its carbon footprint, its strides to recycle more of its waste and/or has put into place long-term and sustainable business practices with a creative and highly innovative advertising poster/internet campaign. The entry needs to be supported by facts and figures showing how effective the measures have been in cutting emissions, reducing waste etc, and the purpose of the campaign.

Global Ocean Carrier of the Year – sponsored by SCCT

Today’s liner shipping industry demands that ocean carriers keep a firm grip over their costs while improving the service experience for their customers. Please describe what you have done on these two fronts over the past 12 months, giving examples of what has been saved and the benefits that have accrued to your customers.

Please outline your growth strategy for the next two years, outlining any value-added initiatives and systems you intend putting in place to help differentiate the services you offer your customers from those of your competitors.

Processing information more quickly and accurately, finding better ways of invoicing, producing freight rate quotations faster and handling claims and resolving compliance issues more effectively can make huge differences when it comes to a company’s cost and productivity levels. Containerisation International is looking for that IT product that is transforming/will transform business processes and help shape the container freight transport industry of the future. Entrants need to describe their product in detail giving examples of the likely costs savings and operational/service benefits from its use both to the vendor and its customers. Since January 2012, Containerisation International has been publishing monthly shipper sentiment surveys based on panels of beneficial cargo owners/freight forwarders located in Asia, Europe and North America.
